Technically brilliant – yet the project is on the brink of collapse!
How could that happen??
Dog is familiar with situations like this.
A major H₂ project. A budget running into millions. Brilliant minds. And yet it had ground to a halt.
No more reports. No progress. Icy emails between the partners. The funding body is growing impatient. The project is in danger of being shut down.
Dog was involved in a project like that. Back then, he was still a young dog.
Dog realised: it wasn’t the membranes or the compressors that were the problem. There was no the guiding thread. In the thicket of funding rules, responsibilities and time pressure, everyone had lost sight of the bigger picture. Nobody openly addressed the stumbling blocks. Responsibilities became blurred.
Dog didn’t rush about frantically. He listened.
He spoke to every partner. He asked the right questions – without blame, without an agenda of his own.
Step by step, structure returned. Communication became clear again. Decisions were made. The documentation became audit-ready. In the end, the project was back on solid ground.
What Dog learnt from this:
Hydrogen projects rarely fail because of the technology. They fail due to a lack of leadership, unclear responsibilities and a lack of direction.
