You’re Standing at the Fence – Hydrogen for Your Business: Three Questions That Matter

This post first appeared on LinkedIn on 1 June 2026.

I told the story of Rat – a character I return to for good reason. Rat is sitting on the fence, briefcase in hand, looking out.

In front of her: a landscape full of possibilities. Wind turbines, solar panels, biogas facilities, reformers, plasma technology units, hydrogen trucks. All combinable. All complex.

Behind her: her company. And the questions keeping her up at night.

You might know that feeling.
The Three Questions That Actually Matter

  1. Could hydrogen actually be viable for my business?

Not every sector stands to benefit equally from hydrogen. Some applications are economically sound today – others are not yet. Before you invest money in studies or supplier quotes, I’ll give you an initial, honest assessment. No frills.

  1. Which combination of technologies fits my situation?

On-site production or purchased supply? Electrolysis, reforming, plasma technology – or trucked-in hydrogen? Bio-CH₄ as feedstock? The best solution is often a mix. I show you what is technically and economically feasible – and what is not.

  1. How do I structure financing and funding?

Many projects don’t fail because of the technology. They fail because of the strategy that comes before it: funding programmes missed, application logic underestimated, own contribution poorly planned. I help you get this right from the start.
Why Me?

25 years of H₂ practice. 23 completed projects. Average funding secured: €1.2M per project. Not a single one failed.

I advise independently – without ties to any technology provider. Which provider fits best is something we work out together, when the time comes.

If these questions sound familiar – reach out. A first conversation costs nothing, takes 45 minutes, and brings clarity: whether hydrogen is a viable option for you, and what sensible next steps might look like.
